INDIA’S RETURN TO STRONG GOVERNMENT ERA.
By giving a clear mandate to a single party, people of
India have chosen strong and stable government after experimenting with
coalition governments for nearly 30 years which slowed down nation’s progress.
There are many people in India who always want a weak
government at the center. Some megalomaniac regional politicians of low stature
and some eccentric thinkers whose perception of freedom stretches to irresponsible
liberty of everything they think of, always keep promoting idea of coalition at center in India, especially after death of Smt. Indira Gandhi. Our media also play a
great role in this exercise of weakening the center. There are two factors
behind this development in Indian politics. One is ambitious regional political
leaders for whom chair of king is out of reach but a position of a king maker
is beneficial and give them ample bargaining leverage for a main aim of personal aggrandizement hidden into stated aim of region’s development. This is why they
keep promoting idea of coalition, third front etc. etc. Other is a perverted
lot of thinkers who got an opportunity to popularize their type of unrestricted
liberty after imposition of emergency by Smt. Gandhi. Fear of emergency became
a handy weapon for this type of people to oppose every reasonable restriction
and to promote unrestricted liberty in the name of reasonable freedom. Since
Narad Muni has disappeared due to Kaliyuga, our media has got into that role.
No body in this game is worried about how day by day weakening of center is
causing damage to our nation-economically due to indecisiveness and policy paralysis as well as internationally because of weak
head of the government. Politicians are busy nursing their ambitions. Thinkers
are busy in squabbling over supremacy of their individual ideas. Media is busy
in teasing everyone, portraying everyone in bad light having abandoned the
responsibility of true opinion maker in national interest. See the quality of
debates organised by our 24x7 channels. Whenever I watch such debates on TV
channels, I feel as if I were in a fish market. I wonder whether they really
arrange debates or they organize dog fights ! I feel sad when I see well
educated, well established people keep interrupting each other and anchors
winding up inconclusively leaving viewers totally confused about the purpose of
holding the debate. Nation as a whole seems to swing from one extreme to other.
In such a bad time ultimately people
took a wise decision to give clear mandate to a single party.
